The Batanes State College is among the 16 out of 114 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the country and is the only SUC in the Cagayan Valley Region to have been commended by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) with a 100 % Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC). CHED Chairperson Prospero De Vera III, CHED Commissioner and BSC BOT Chairperson Hon. Marita R. Canapi, HOR-CHTE Chair Hon. Mark O. Go, CHED Executive Director Atty. Cinderella Filipina S. Benitez-Jaro and other CHED officials conferred this distinguished accolade at the COPC Awards Night: Recognition of Excellence in Zamboanga City last evening.
The certification is a prestigious recognition exclusively awarded to SUCs that have demonstrated exceptional commitment and adherence to the stringent standards established by the CHED for each of their academic programs.
According to BSC President Djovi R. Durante, this award attests to the College’s unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch curricular programs conforming to CHED’s standards. This commitment is a source of confidence and reassurance for our students, parents, and the academic community. He also extends acknowledgment to the former presidents of the College and, most notably, to the dedicated faculty and staff.
BSC President Durante, accompanied by Ms. Romina Katrina B. Bernardo, the Director for Administrative and Finance Services, and Ms. Daryl Alva B. Duguran, the Director for Internationalization and External Linkages, accepted the award. This event was part of the SUC Fair 2024, attended by all SUCs in the country led by their respective Presidents, which opened yesterday and is scheduled to conclude on July 11, 2024, at KCC Mall, Zamboanga City.
