BSC President Dr. Djovi Regala Durante pledged continued commitment to academic excellence as he delivered his State of the College Address (SOCA) during the College’s 20th Founding Anniversary celebration yesterday.

“As we look to the future, BSC remains resolute in its commitment to excellence and innovation, emerging as a beacon of hope and progress in the Batanes Islands and beyond,” Durante said.

Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and government officials gathered at the BSC Amphitheater to mark the culmination of a week-long celebration.

Adding to the event’s significance was the presence of the Keynote Speaker, Atty. Florencio “Butch” B. Abad, former DBM Secretary and author of Republic Act 9314, which converted Batanes Polytechnic College into Batanes State College. Hon. Ciriaco B. Gato Jr., represented by Ms. Cherrie Dhea B. Addatu, Hon. Marilou H. Cayco, Provincial Governor of Batanes, and Hon. German A. Caccam, Municipal Mayor of Basco.

CHED Commissioner and BSC Board of Trustees Chairperson, Hon. Marita R. Canapi, and CHED Executive Director Atty. Cinderella Filipina S. Benitez-Jaro also extended their greetings through pre-recorded messages.
