Batanes State College participated in the nationwide launching of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), with the theme “United for a VAW-free Philippines” and sub-theme “VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”
BSC President Djovi R. Durante led the kick-off program, where faculty and administrative staff performed the “Step to Empower, Dance to Inspire” campaign dance to the tune of the ” Isang Bilyong Babae and Babangon” this GAD morning.
BSC GAD Focal Person Zoe Dympna H. CartaƱo announced a series of activities in line with the campaign, such as using an all-women cast for the Lupang Hinirang video and VAW-related presentations during flag ceremonies and displaying the official campaign banner. She also invited the BSC Community to attend the seminar on VAW and MOVE (Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere) on December 6 and encouraged everyone to advocate for positive masculinity. She urged everyone to participate in the “Orange Your Profile” campaign and to use the designated hashtags on social media.
The campaign will run until December 12, 2024.
