Batanes State College solidified its commitment to inclusivity by joining this year’s RayañiRUN: “Run with Purpose, Stride with Pride,” held yesterday, June 29, 2025. This move highlights BSC’s ongoing Gender and Development (GAD) initiative and its support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
With the growing clamor for anti-discrimination measures and the urgent need to address challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, from workplace discrimination to access to equitable healthcare, in a country where the fight for SOGIE Equality remains a critical and often challenging battle, BSC’s participation is a powerful show of support for the community.
Organized by the Municipal Government of Basco through the Local Youth Development Office and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, the fun run brought together advocates, allies, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to celebrate Pride Month and raise awareness on the ongoing struggles and contributions of queer Filipinos.
BSC supports equal rights and opportunities for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Let us stride forward, together, towards a truly inclusive and equitable Philippines.
