It was only recently that Super Typhoon Nando hit the northernmost part of Cagayan Valley leaving a trail of devastation to Calayan and Babuyan islands. Hence, Batanes State College (BSC), through the Office of Student Services, with the initiative of BSC Supreme Student Council, organized a Walk for a Cause today, September 30, 2025.

The Walk for a Cause was attended by BSC officials, faculty, employees, and students. The route started from the BSC Main Gate and proceeded to Vayang Rolling Hills. This aims to provide basic necessities and support to BSC students and employees from Calayan and Babuyan islands affected by Super Typhoon Nando.

It was indeed a successful fund-raising event, raising a total of P32,990.00. The full amount will be promptly distributed to the beneficiaries and the in-kind donations were delivered to the Provincial Government of Batanes (PGB), which is also organizing a donation drive for Calayan and Babuyan islands.

BSC extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed, whether through donations in kind or monetary support.
