Batanes State College (BSC) co-organized the 3rd International Multidisciplinary Research-based Extension Conference (IMREC 2025), held on November 19-22, 2025 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Themed “Rooted in Service, Rising in Impact: Reimagining Extension for Local Solutions to Global Challenges,” the conference highlights innovative community-driven efforts addressing global issues.
Representing the College President Dr. Djovi R. Durante, Dr. Jane S. Castillo, College Research and Extension Coordinator and Teacher Education Department Chairperson chaired the Board of Judges for the Health and Well-Being and Online strands, underscoring BSC’s leadership role.
Also, Ms. Mardie Mae C. Alasco from the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department presented the extension project titled “MANGPID: Molding and Nurturing a New Generation of Professional through In-Depth Development under the Social Empowerment and Governance strand”.
First hosted by the College in 2023, IMREC 2025 is endorsed by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and organized by the National Higher Education Extensionists Consortium wherein BSC is one of the founding SUC. This event, hosted by Bohol Island State University, continues to foster academic collaboration and impactful community engagement through research-based extension programs.
