The Batanes State College (BSC) has kicked off its ISO 9001:2015 certification journey with the commencement of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Government Quality Management Program (GQMP) in the Initial Quality Performance Assessment (IQPA) on May 2-3, 2024.

 

Project Manager Ronald Armin F. Ocampo, along with Project Staff Orlando B. Botero, Jr., serves as resource persons for the IQPA. According to Project Manager Ocampo, the College has many strengths, including the presence of competent personnel, commitment, and support from top management, key officers, and staff.

BSC President Durante remains optimistic about the certification process despite the setbacks and challenges encountered. He reminded the participants that we, as public servants, must be accountable to the public and that providing quality services is paramount. He added that he hopes participants will utilize the program effectively to enhance their skills and contribute to the College’s excellence.

 

BSC is one of the beneficiary agencies of the national government-funded GQMP this year, highlighting the institution’s commitment to quality improvement. This program will also increase stakeholder confidence and ensure consistency in BSC’s services. The GQMP is a comprehensive program encompassing QMS development, implementation, and evaluation. It will run until December 2024, emphasizing the long-term commitment and dedication required from all participants.
