Aside from the traditional way of gift-giving to teachers, the Batanes State College added some features to honor its teaching force last September 30.

Joining the celebration of the World Teachers’ Month, BSC faculty and staff rolled up their sleeves and came out for a health walk early morning of Friday.

The employees did a LaTakPi (Lakad, Takbo, Pitas) within the Basco proper. They picked Arius fruits along the road that will later be used in the food development products of BSC as part of the College’s research and development niche.

Seeds of the Arius fruits will also be used for the seedling production project of the College.

Students also took part in the celebration by entertaining the teachers and handing in some tokens at the BSC Conference Hall.

The full-day celebration was capped off with some socialization activities with the BSC band.

According to the BSC administration, it puts premium to the welfare of its faculty members, including their mental and physical health.
