The Batanes State College (BSC) Agriculture Department headed by Ms. Xina V. Vinalay, actively participated in the 1st Field Day hosted by the LGU-Basco at Tukon Demonstration Farm on March 4, 2024. This event aimed to showcase innovative farming technologies and provide practical learning experiences for attendees.

During the event, the Agriculture faculty and students demonstrated the process of silage making, an alternative feeding method for livestock like goats. This method offers several benefits, including improved feed efficiency and year-round availability of nutritious fodder. Additionally, the faculty and students provided a live demonstration of using a forage chopper, a machine that efficiently cuts and processes forage into smaller, more manageable pieces.
The BSC Agriculture Department extends its sincere gratitude to the Municipal Government of BASCO for organizing this valuable event, fostering knowledge sharing, and promoting collaboration within the agricultural community. We also commend the LGU-Basco on the successful execution of the Field Day.
