Newly elected student leaders and organizational officers of Batanes State College (BSC) for the Academic Year 2026–2027 were formally inducted today, July 31, during the Induction Ceremony held at the College Conference Hall.

Carrying the theme, “Embracing Responsibility: Leading with Purpose, Serving with Integrity, Building a Stronger Student Community,” the ceremony highlighted the role of student leaders in fostering accountability, ethical leadership, and service to the college community.

Outgoing Supreme Student Council (SSC) President Alfred Vincent D. Baccay shared three principles that he encouraged the incoming officers to uphold; Lead with humility, listen before speaking, and serve before seeking recognition.

Baccay reminded the new leaders that while leadership positions are temporary, the impact they leave on the college community can endure for years.
Meanwhile, newly elected SSC President Maybelyn Alueta, reflected on a lesson she learned from College President, Dr. Djovi Durante, saying, “Growing without purpose is moving without direction.”

Alueta linked the message to the council’s commitment to purposeful leadership and service throughout her term. “I also hope na if may mga mistakes and shortcomings kami, sana maintindihan ng mga students and magbigay ng honest feedback,” she said in a seperate interview.

Dr. Durante underscored the significance of their new responsibilities, “…your effectiveness as a leader will be measured by how many students felt heard because of you, empowered because of you, and inspired because of you,” he stated.
