The Technical Working Group of the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO) is holding its two-day 9th Consultative Meeting today, May 19, 2026, at the BSC Conference Hall. This is a continuing partnership between Batanes State College, the University of the Philippines (UP), and the Provincial Government of Batanes.

Reaffirming the province’s commitment as a UN Tourism global observatory, today’s meeting introduces new thematic sub-committees on energy management, accessibility, and wastewater management.

Guiding the discussions alongside the College are Dr. Mary Anne Ramos-Tumanan, Project Director of the Batanes Tourism and Hospitality Monitoring Center, together with multidisciplinary team of experts from the University of the Philippines including the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, Prof. Carl Michael F. Odulio; Vice President for Administration, Dr. Augustus Resureccion; Prof. Edieser Dela Santa; Engr. Ma. Brida Lea Diola; Dr. Cybelle Concepcion M. Futalan; and Dr. Marie Danielle Guillen.
