Batanes State College (BSC) formally welcomed the Evaluation Committee for the President (ECP), led by Dr. Milabel E. Ho, Executive Director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. and Chairperson of the BSC-ECP. Joining her in the distinguished panel were Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC); Dr. Julieta M. Paras, CESO III, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office II; Engr. Ruth L. Pacana, Private Sector Representative; and Asst. Prof. William Pol M. Maggay, Academic Sector Representative.

Also present were the secretariats, Engr. Romina Katrina B. Bernardo, Acting Board Secretary V of BSC, Ms. Marie Fe E. Pableo, Board Secretary I, and Mr. Anfernee P. Ruanto, Executive Assistant of CHED Commissioner Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, ASEAN CPA, who joined virtually.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Ho expressed her sincere gratitude for the continued support extended to the ECP. She likewise acknowledged the leadership of Dr. Djovi R. Durante as he presented the accomplishments of his administration over the past four (4) years.

Dr. Ho emphasized that the Committee convened to evaluate the President’s achievements from 2022 to 2026, particularly in the areas of academic leadership, institutional development, and resource mobilization.

During the evaluation, College President Dr. Djovi R. Durante presented his Accomplishment from 2022 to 2026, highlighting the milestones, initiatives, and transformative programs achieved during his four-year term.

The academic community and valued external stakeholders gathered in support as President Durante not only presented accomplishments, but also shared the story of a collective journey with the BSC community and its partners — navigating the sails of leadership, service, and institutional growth. He likewise outlined the future directions and aspirations he envisions for the College.

In his presentation, Pres. Durante expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire BSC community, recognizing that every milestone achieved was made possible through their unwavering support, collaboration, and trust which served as the steady wind behind every success of his administration.

As Dr. Paras emphasized in her closing message, “Let us recognize that these achievements are not the end of a journey or sail, but a strong foundation for what lies ahead.” She further emphasized that new chapters await , ones that call for greater collaboration, innovation, and dedication as BSC continues to fulfill its vital role in national development.
