Beginning the year with commitment and distinction, the Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony formally marked the commencement of the internship program of students of Batanes State College (BSC). This significant occasion was held alongside the Testimonial Ceremony honoring the recent passers of the Agriculturist Licensure Examination (ALE) and the Licensure Examination for Teachers. The event was held on January 06, 2026 at the BSC Amphitheater.
The College President, Dr. Djovi R. Durante, emphasized two (2) milestones celebrated today: first, the students’ readiness for professional training; and second, recognition of the passers’ defining achievement. He reminded all to embody discipline, competence, respect, and the BSC Core Values – “SEHDANG”. He once again congratulated all the passers, and to the BSC Agriculturists for achieving 100% passing rate – the first in the history of BSC – inspiring students who will follow in their footsteps. He emphasized that these achievements should not be seen as an end, but as a call to greater responsibility, continuous growth, and meaningful service to the community.
The resource speaker, Ms. Glyza Mae Valiente – Baldomar, highlighted the acronym “REAL” as a guide for student-interns and professionals: R – respect the work; E – Embrace learning; A – Act with integrity; L – Link your work with purpose. Saying that achievements and licenses should lead to meaningful results.
To our student-interns and passers, let your work and achievements inspire growth, service, and excellence in all you do.
