Batanes State College (BSC) headed by the College President, Dr. Djovi R. Durante, held the Ceremonial Kick Off of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, today, November 24, 2025, led by Ms. Zoe Dympna H. Cartaño, BSC GAD focal person.

A short orientation about “Men Opposed Violence Against Women Everywhere (MOVE) was given by Atty. Philip Ulysses T. Castillo. MOVE is an organization of men who commit themselves to prevent or end Violence Against Women (VAW). This aims to eliminate gender-based violence, break the silence and complicity that sustains VAW, lastly, form partnerships and contribute to the development of policies and programs that address VAW. Followed by the BSC male employees giving their Pledge of Commitment to observe “MOVE”.

This year, the campaign focuses on advancing a whole-of-nation approach to end gender-based violence. It encourages youth to lead change, men to be active allies, bystanders to speak up, and leaders to push for strong policies to support survivors, promote justice, and create a safer society for everyone. 🧡
