Batanes State College President Dr. Djovi R. Durante convened a meeting with the Director for Student Services, Associate Professor Fortunato Philip A. Cabugao, along with Mr. Randall G. Castillo, Supreme Student Council (SSC) Adviser, and the incoming officers of the BSC SSC led by their President-elect Paul Ivan M. Hornedo to deliberate on the forthcoming plans and initiatives of the SSC.

During the meeting, the incoming SSC officers delivered updates on Project Starla, a proposal the outgoing SSC officers initiated, which aims to provide students with internet access through a voucher system slated to launch soon.

The re-accreditation of student organizations was also a focal point of discussion, underscoring the necessity of accrediting the student organizations within the College as a prerequisite for their operation.

President Durante wanted to ensure a seamless student election process for the upcoming academic year. He underscored the importance of averting the recurrent issue of outgoing officers continuing their responsibilities into the new term until new officers are elected.

Furthermore, the meeting encompassed exploring potential projects, including addressing the transportation challenges encountered by students from the southern municipalities of Batan Island.
The group also deliberated on the plans for the upcoming induction program – tentatively scheduled for October 8, Intramurals in November, and leadership training programs.
