November 10, 2022 | ICT Department Launched CLIK Extension Program
One of the main highlights in the opening program of the 4th Information and Communications Technology Department Day was the launching of the “Computer Literacy Program for Ivatan Komunity (CLIK) Extension Project,” a project spearheaded by the ICT Department together with Alliance of Information Technologists Organization – AITO that will commence in the municipality of Basco and whose main objective is to help the Ivatan community in using the basic usage of computer programs to assist our fellow Ivatans in becoming computer literate and equipped with basic computer operation knowledge that will help them in their work.
The project will be in collaboration with the municipality of Basco.
“We will continue to support programs that promote computer literacy. We vow to prioritize computer literacy among our youth and those who are interested to learn regardless of age, to prepare them for what is ahead as this is the future that we are indeed facing and must be prepared for,” Hon. Caccam, through Hon. Castillo, said these words during his word of commitment to launching the CLIK Project.
“Trust that we continue to support and push programs geared towards creating a society ready for the digital world,” he added.
Among the attendees were Hon. German A. Caccam, the municipal mayor of Basco, represented by Hon. Francisco C. Castillo, a Sangguniang Bayan Member, and the Chairperson of the Committee on Information and Communication, Dr. Djovi Regala Durante, the College President, Mr. Leobert L. Banzali, the Director for Research Development and Extension Training, Prof. Michel A. Cabrera, the Department Chairperson of ICT, Mr. Warlito Tomas Jr., the Agri-fisheries Department Chairperson, and Dr. Angelita H. Vargas, Teacher Education Chairperson.
