Batanes State College (BSC), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office and under the #GADSaves campaign, participated in a successful blood donation drive yesterday, August 17, at the BSC Conference Hall. Out of over 118 registrants, a total of 68 individuals were qualified to donate, resulting in the collection of 64 bags of blood– the highest collection from a single mobile blood donation drive since Batanes General Hospital (BGH) began its program.
The life-saving initiative was a collaborative effort with the Philippine Army Reserve Force, as part of its RESCOM-wide Bloodletting Activity. This was also made possible through the support of the Batanes General Hospital, the Provincial Government of Batanes, the Local Government Unit of Basco, and the Rotary Club of Batanes Yaru. The event demonstrated the community’s shared commitment to ensuring a stable blood supply for those in need.
