College President Djovi R. Durante recently met with the college’s representatives to the 21st Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC), Jether Paul A. Bongay, Mark Julius V. Box, and Ma. Isabelle Vargas, with their Student Publication Adviser, Ms. Jannel Basiuang. President Durante commended their exemplary performance at the RHEPC, where they garnered several awards in both individual and group categories.

During the meeting, President Durante expressed his hope that their success would inspire greater interest in campus journalism among BSC students. He encouraged Bongay, Box, and Vargas to mentor the next campus journalists and to motivate their fellow students to join the editorial board.

President Durante also advised Ms. Basiuang to encourage other students and organize workshops to identify students with potential in journalism.
Bongay’s achievement in securing 5th place in the News Writing English category has earned him the opportunity to represent BSC and the region at the 20th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference, to be held in Lucban, Quezon, in April 2025.

BSC extends its appreciation to Student Publication Adviser Ms. Basiuang along with former BSC Instructor and Student Publication Adviser, Mr. Andrei John S. Cordova for their support and guidance to the BSC campus journalists.
