On January 21, 2025, College President Djovi R. Durante personally received the Php 9 million check through Dr. Sylvette Gunigundo, Director IV of the Office of Planning, Research, and Knowledge Management for the project titled, “Transformative Smart Campus Development: Enhancing Educational Excellence through Upgraded Facilities (Phase 1)”.
The project, proposed by the Project Team led by Mr. Randall G. Castillo, aims to enhance the existing BSC infrastructure to improve the teaching and learning experience by upgrading physical and digital infrastructures for campus connectivity and establishing a smart learning hub for BSC students.
The project was funded under Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG) by CHED, a grant awarded to higher education institutions to fund initiatives that strengthen their qualifications and capacity to respond and remain relevant to local, regional, national, and global priorities.
From the Batanes State College family, we extend our sincerest gratitude to CHED Commissioner Marita R. Canapi, EdD, who allocated the funding of this project which has been instrumental in securing its grant for implementation.
Diyos mamahes, CHED!
