Batanes State College has invested 600 thousand pesos in installing Dedicated Internet Access or iGATE Premium Internet Access, making it the first in the province to offer this high-quality service. By partnering with PLDT and Smart Enterprise, the College has taken a step towards digital transformation, ensuring its services are enhanced and keeping up with the fast-paced digital world.
Virtual attendance is an excellent option since the province is geographically isolated, making it difficult and costly to send employees and students to training and seminars on the mainland. Through virtual attendance, attendees can participate more efficiently through the Internet. BSC President Djovi Regala Durante explained that this investment is an intelligent way to maximize the College’s budget.
PLDT Enterprise Business Head of Luzon LGU CRB, Vincent R. Rodriguez, expressed gratitude to BSC for the partnership and trust, stating that digital transformation is crucial for the next wave of smart universities and colleges.
PLDT assured BSC of the company’s after-sales support and continuous improvement of their technology to help more areas on campus, said DH H. Duran, Relationship Manager of PLDT Enterprise.
Engr. Romina Katrina C. Bayaras, BSC Director for Administrative and Finance Services, also thanked PLDT for their partnership, which will provide better services to BSC’s stakeholders.
BSC President Durante emphasized the importance of reliable internet connectivity as an indispensable tool for development. He also stressed how this partnership would prepare the College for online accreditation in June 2023, enabling them to offer the province more programs and better services.
According to PLDT, iGATE is a Dedicated Internet Access Service that provides high-speed, reliable, managed connectivity. It offers the most powerful and extensive broadband network to support the operations of companies, institutions, and communities and assist the government in efforts meant for public benefit.
