COMMUNITY MEMBERS SWARMED at the Batanes State College (BSC) grounds to observe the 17th Agro-Trades Fair last March 20.
They took advantage of the low prices of agricultural and industrial products of the students and entrepreneurs displayed in the booths and tents situated in the campus.
Aside from the display of products, each department also showcased its students’ outputs like drawings, laboratory products and paintings.
Film showing and tourism exhibits for the participants also took place. According to Prof. Hilda Castillo, there were more than one thousand individuals who came to join this event. The whole-day program commenced through a motorcade around Basco town to invite everyone to buy low-priced products.
Meanwhile, Dr. Marieta Salviejo, Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), spearheaded the cutting of ribbon for the formal opening of the bazaar.
Dr. Salviejo said in an ambush interview by The Builders, “I appreciate the efforts of BSC in observing this celebration. It is a clear form of support to the local entrepreneurs of Batanes.”
Aside from gracing the event, Salviejo also lent the College several tents for putting up the business “tiangge” for the occasion.
